Christmas Mantel 2013

I showed you my Red, White, and Aqua Christmas Tree — ready to see the Christmas Mantel 2013!?!  I want my babies to have memories of Christmas being  happy and fun — that means a colorful family Christmas Tree.   And more color on the mantel, too.

We’ve had these stockings from PotteryBarn kids for years.   It was pure excitement when I pulled them out of one of our attic boxes a few weeks ago.   When I saw these little hooks at my neighbors house, I made a quick trip to Ace Hardware.

I made the snowball garland last year and put it to use again this year letting it hang on the same little hooks.

I love how the hooks blend into the moulding and leave plenty of room on the mantle for decorating.

Above the stockings I have my quatrefoil mirror and hanging on it is a new Garden Ridge find – a pretty deerhead for next to nothing.  I love the how it is painted  with lots of layers of silver.

Above the stockings is an assortment of candles and  candleholders – mercury, glass, and white.   On either side of the mantel I filled a hurricane with coordinating ornaments from the tree, and leaning on the mirror is the fun monogram ‘L’ wreath I made a few weeks ago.  I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that still likes a splash of chevron.  Every since Nate called it timeless, I’ve been happy to claim it, too.

And on the little table in front of our couches is the best reminder of what this season is all about – thanking God for the greatest gift EVER!

Merry Christmas Jesus — I’m so glad it’s Christmas!
