Laundry Room Remodel Begins & Giveaway

Over a year ago, we signed on the line to purchase our home. We had to squint our eyes and tilt our heads to see the potential hiding under the outdated colors and oddly angled walls of the house that we hoped to turn into our dream home. Room by room, we have taken on the huge challenge of turning this home into a thing of beauty! Our first step was repainting the entire house with a neutral consistent color throughout. Then we took on the crazy adventure of gutting the kitchen to create a bright, functional space. The process wasn’t seamless, but we are so proud of the results!  So what’s next!?!  Time for a Laundry Room Remodel, pictured below.

Updating Countertops @ItsOverflowing

As much as I love the color pink — I think it’s best reserved for flowers and cushion covers! I totally agree with Jonathan Adler’s decor philosophy, “Build a timelessly chic foundation, then accessorize with abandon.” My plan is to replace the pink with Crème Lacquered Linen from the Formica® Laminate Jonathan Adler Collection, inspired by mid-century modern furniture, its pattern sports a glossy finish to create a new spin on classic texture.

Formica® Laminate Jonathan Adler Collection

Below is the kitchen that totally inspired me to start my laundry room remodel! Having already remodeled my kitchen, my budget is obviously small, but that doesn’t mean I have to sacrifice durability and style. I have decided on these Crème Lacquered Linen Formica® Brand counter tops. I think they’ll look great with my white cabinetry! It’s going to take my space from functional to totally classy! Check out the Orange Greek Key Formica® Laminate being used as a backsplash below. Formica® Brand isn’t limited to counter tops!

Creme Linen Formica

The Formica® Laminate Jonathan Adler Collection >> Time to Build

I hope to raise my sink to allow a long continuous counter top from my sink all the way across the wall, over my front loading washer and dryer as pictured below.

Laundry Room Remodel

Laundry Room Remodel >> Houzz

This will be a great space for folding and setting the kids up with a quick craft. I am totally split between adding a splash of color to the walls or painting the room white and accessorizing with color.

New Formica Countertops @ItsOverflowing

Still a few decisions to make, but I’m excited to share the process with you. I’ll start by letting you know The Formica® Laminate Jonathan Adler Collection is available at Lowe’s home centers and select kitchen and bath distributors nationwide.

Laundry Room Update @ItsOverflowing

I’m totally crushing on the Lacquered Linen, but there are 9 amazing patterns.

Check out swatches of the entire collection!

Lacquered Linen  •  Greek Key  •  Malachite

  1. I would install a fold-down table / shelf for folding dry clothes, since our laundry room is tiny, and I’d paint the walls and install some over-hanging cabinets for storage. I’ve also always loved how the dispensing detergent jugs can just be used over the washing machine from a high shelf and it prevents a mess.

Seriously, it’s going to look so cool! And good idea about extending the counter over the washer and dryer. Can’t wait to see the finished look!
