Front Porch Makeover

This is our forever family home.  We love it here.  God willing we’ll be here for the next ten years until my three sweet B’s have all graduated from high school.  Then we’re sticking a for sale sign in the yard and moving to the beach.  Our vacation last week confirmed that decision.  As fabulous as getaways are, we love coming home.  It was fun to see the results from my Front Porch Makeover.

I had been on the lookout for a substantial black urn.  I checked every garden supply store in the area, but nothing stood out.  And then while grocery shopping wandering aisles at one of my favorite stores, I stumbled on these 21″ beauties.  I had to get an extra cart!

A few days later, I shared this pillow picture on and lots of you shared you have a similar passion!  #HomeGoodsHappy.  Nothing updates a space like adding a couple pillows.

I am obsessed with my vintage planter on the opposite side of the porch and wanted to mirror that color on the bench.  There were plenty of options!!!  Next on my list, an additional pillow with an element of surprise.

I planted a few drought resistant flowers in my vintage planter.

And wrapped a piece of thick chevron burlap ribbon around my painted white, originally natural wood color wreath.  Then added a couple of ferns to fill the urns.   Here it is all together, my mini-front porch makeover.

Your home is absolutely gorgeous and your porch makeover looks fantastic! I especially love the black planters. Thanks for sharing where you purchased everything~that’s always helpful. You have a great walkway that draws the eye to your front door. Have you ever thought about taking out a strip of lawn on either side of the walkway and planting something on either side (your husband is going to hate me…LOL)? Check out I believe they may have used iris, but lavender plants would look nice year round. I don’t know what possessed me to suggest this ~I’m definitely not a landscape architect!
